Failing to do so however will have you end up on either two things. Either you will switch luggages with some one who own the same-looking bag or your belonging will end up in the lost luggage capital of the world – Alabama.

So in order to for you to easily and effectively identify bag and help it stand out amidst a sea of black luggages, you must find drastic and sometimes weird sounding ways. Do away with common ways of marking your bags.

Putting on ribbons, wrapping your bags with odd looking straws and even putting bag tags do not work any more. Here are the reasons. Ribbons and straws can get entangled only on conveyors.

Anyone who has intention to mess up things during bag claiming can rip off these materials so not really a good option. Also, bag tags have become increasingly familiar. Everyone has it already.

So what then is a helpful way? Well, it all starts when you buy your luggage. Purchase the weirdest looking, catchy colored bag in town. Black is without a doubt the most common luggage color.

Try to be different by choosing bags that are brightly colored like red, pink, and neon green. You can also buy bags that are oddly shaped like a star, a cone, a thumb or a bell.

The last thing you will probably do on a long queue of bag claimers is to scan though bags that all look the same. If you can not afford buying new though you can still find less costly but still creative ways to identify your luggage.

Spray paints are also a good idea to make your bags stand out in the crowd. Vandalizing your bag though may seem like an ugly idea, but if it works for you then why not.

Other frequent passengers have also shared ideas on how to spot their bags easily like adding a bunch of stickers on the either side of the bag. Others have resorted to putting fluorescent fabrics on their luggages that helps them spot their bags from kilometers away.

Some have considered embroidering their bags with their name and even address.

There are still lots of ways to identify our luggage. In fact, some have come up with ugly ways just so their bags can easily show up amidst a sea of black luggages. This has given birth to the term “uglify” which means to make a bag stand out.
