In addition to putting an identification label on your luggage, it is also helpful if you buy a luggage tag. These tags are made by either leather material or silver. These are very durable materials that can withstand tampering or worn out.

You can have your name etched or printed onto these tags for a long lasting identification. Another helpful tip on avoiding unclaimed luggage is to put a copy of your travel itinerary.

But doing so, the airport personnel will be able to track your whereabouts if in case you leave your luggages behind.

If putting labels on your luggage is not enough, then put names on every object you have in your bag. Remember how enthusiastic your mother was embroidering your name on your underwear just so your camp mates get discouraged to steal your stuff?

Well, you can apply this same practical tip to traveling.

Finally, to prevent unclaimed luggage, put an odd marking or anything that will make your bag stand out in case there is a look alike. Tie a ribbon around the handle; this will warn other owners that it is not their bag they are grabbing.
