Business Travel Luggage Tips for Comfortable Trips
No matter if you are an
experienced business traveler or flying on business trip, you must know that Transportation Security Administration has changed the rules
and regulations with regards to what you can carry on inside the plane and what you can check into the cargo recently.
Lately, there are few great changes at most of major airport security checkpoints. Nowadays, all the business travelers together with their
luggage have a special designated line prior to entering the checkpoint area.
To be safe, it is a good practice to call your local airport for more information. Otherwise, you are risking missing the flight the next time
you are having urgent and important overseas.
Electronic Devices Precaution Tip in Business Travel Luggage
If you are traveling for businesses, make sure you pull the laptop out of the case and put in a designated bin by itself before letting it
rolls away on the conveyor belt.
This is important since most business travelers are carrying more electronic gadgets than any other passengers. This includes camcorders,
laptop, GPS units, cell phones, pagers, cameras and personal data assistants (PDAs).
In fact, you have the flexibility to carry it on board or checked it in together with your business travel luggage.
A special note for camera equipment though: The checked baggage have to go through the X-ray screening equipment which probably can damage the
undeveloped film in a camera.
Therefore, don’t forget to put the undeveloped film in your carry-on baggage and request the X-ray screener to make the hand inspection
instead.
Many of my friends fall victim to this situation that they don’t know what to do!
The Allowed Sporting Goods on Board
As we are moving toward a modern society, current generation is paying more attention about their diet and exercise they should be doing daily
than before.
Away from home is no longer an excuse for them to skip these practices. Luckily, there is a lot of business deal conducted on tennis court or
a gold course nowadays.
However, there are few sporting items that is not allowed to be put in the carry-on business travel luggage. These include bow and arrows,
baseball bats, golf clubs, lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks, ski poles, pool cues, and spear guns.
Nevertheless, some of the items such as basketballs, baseballs, golf balls and soccer balls, are permitted to be brought with you through the
airport security checkpoint.
Any Other Personal Items for Business Travel Luggage
As business travelers can be away from home as long as six months, they should be carrying more personal items than the other travelers
combined. Even if you go for vacation wouldn’t be as long as the business trips.
If you have containers smaller than 3 oz., you may want to carry on or check the following personal items in: creams and lotions, aerosol
bottles and cans, mosquito sprays and repellents, bubble bath balls and cigar cutters.
